Thursday

Well it’s been a busy day one way or another.

I took Lucy into town today. She needed a few bits for school. She goes back next Thursday. We got most of the things she needed. Then we had lunch in Pepper Alley which is a lovely place down by the river. We shared a lovely chocolate fudge cake….sadly no photo of it because Andy ‘borrowed’ my memory card and didn’t give it back. I don’t feel at all right without the camera.

This afternoon I was ringing around various places to find out what I could about where Jonathan is on the hospital waiting list. Someone was to get back to me but I didn’t hear anything yet. Then I phoned because there is a scheme where you might be able to get treatment in another country using a form called the E112. Again I hit a brick wall, they won’t consider any operation that is already carried out in Ireland, they told me to contact the National Treatment Purchase Fund…..which I have already done and they won’t cover the operation because it’s too expensive….so what happens now? Who knows?

This evening my mobile phone rang and it was the Irish Daily Star, they had seen the article in the Sligo Champion and wanted an interview. So I told them the story, it is meant to be published on Sunday, still hoping that someone will read it that can suggest something.

  1. Val, did the article appear in y’days paper?
You can bet your bottom dollar (euro?) that none of the people who have anything to do with this case have a family member struggling with the same condition… they would have been fast tracked ages ago. 😦

  2. Are you going to give them a call Val and find out if it’s going to appear another day? Don’t let them leave you high and dry – they’ve got your story and it desperately needs airing. xx
