September

September, originally uploaded by magnum_lady.

Well it’s September. Let’s hope this month is better then last month.

I’ve had another day of going around in circles. I got an email back from the hospital that said this:

I refer to your recent enquiry to the National Hospitals Office in connection with your son, Jonathan, who is awaiting surgery at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin.

Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin is addressing the challenge of delivering a high quality service to its patients, while remaining within budget. The hospital is committed to providing the full level of services that it promised in its 2009 Service Plan. The Health Service Executive (HSE) has, in discussions with the hospital, identified resources within its existing allocation, which will enable the treatment of children with scoliosis. The HSE is currently working with the hospital and are confident that the hospital will be in a position to care for these children as quickly as possible.

As you will be aware, patients on waiting lists at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin (OLCHC) are prioritised for surgery based on clinical need. The hospital has advised that an Out Patient Appointment has been scheduled for Jonathan for the 1st October 2009. Unfortunately it is not possible to confirm a date for surgery for Jonathan at this particular time.

  1. I hope you there will be some good news for you both very soon, both for this and finding a place for Jono on a scheme.
It must be so worrying and frustrating for you, being pushed from pillar to post, and having to deal with all those faceless beaurocrats and not getting any sort of result.

  2. Oops…… knew that spelling wasn’t right. Well they’re equally frustrating to deal with, no matter how you spell it.
