Regular readers to the blog will know that Jono has kyphosis and scoliosis. You’ll also know he’s been waiting for an appointment to be seen by the consultant.
At last we have good news. Jono has been waiting to be seen since May 2015, I spoke to the hospital in June and they weren’t very hopefully about him being seen anytime soon. You can read more about that here.
Firstly yesterday Jono had an x-ray done in Merlin Park Hospital in Galway. I have to say they were lovely there, so helpful and efficient. The x-ray at the top right of this post is from yesterday. The one on the left is from 2009 before Jono had his spinal fusion surgery. I wasn’t too sure what to make of this as to me it doesn’t look much different and he was a lot straighter after the surgery.
Anyway I’m not a doctor so I was figuring I’d have a battle on my hands once again to try to get him seen as soon as possible….but no. The postman arrived today with a letter saying Jono has an appointment in Dublin on September 15th!! Happy days all round and hopefully we’ll find out what’s going on and if another surgery is needed or perhaps there’s another solution.
In the meantime thank you for all your support and we’ll keep you updated.
That’s good news, Val. Fingers crossed the outcome will be good.
Thanks Jean
This is such great news! Very happy for him and wishing the very best outcome for Jono❤
Glad he is getting the specialty care he deserves and needs. Bona Fortuna Jono. Thanks for sharing Val.
I am happy to hear this Val. I think I told you I also have scoliosis…and have some understanding of all that goes with it. You are a great mom and Jono a great fighter!
Good news! Hoping the appointment goes well and has a positive outcome 🙂
