This morning we woke up to snow. I was half tempted to stay in bed as I was awake half the night listening to the thunder-storm, the snow sliding off the roof and the dog shaking with fear!
I think the sheep in the photo above looks photoshopped! It’s not but it looks like I’ve just cut and pasted him there π
Aren’t these the coolest sheep? They are in Markree Castle and don’t seem to be one bit shy.
The reason this blog post is called lazy photography is that every photo was taken with my phone from my car….the laziest photo’s I’ve ever taken, mainly because it was raining. If we still have snow tomorrow I might take some ‘proper’ photos.
Beautiful shots. The sheep looks shopped because he has no shadow. Even in the shade, objects typically have something of a shadow. Nothing a little burning around the legs couldn’t take care of. π
Thanks π I was sitting here looking at it and wondering what was wrong with it!
I liked these photos, no matter how effortless! I like the black and white of the water and gulls, the castle, the light through the dark castle gate. Such a beautiful corner of the world in which you live! (The sheep does look photoshopped–funny little apparition.) Snow from thunderstorms is not so usual, at least in the U.S. where I am. I hope that you sleep more soundly tonight. ~ Lily
Thanks Lily, yes a much better sleep last night π The sheep is just odd looking π
I am visiting Ireland in October. How is the weather normally during that time of year? Anyplace you recommend that I visit?
Well be prepared for four seasons in one day Jessica! Although saying that October is usually fairly nice, it’s just luck really. I think all of Ireland is beautiful so I’m sure where ever you go you’ll have a wonderful time. I’m am biased in thinking Sligo is the best but that’s because I live here π
We love the lazy photograpy! Especially as it features markree castle ..I stayed there with my mother about 20 years ago and we had a fantastic time. I used one of my own photos for our Christmas card that year..all grey and misty tree reflections on the water ..mine wasn’t a brill photo but full of memories of times gone ..thank you for adding to my memory pile today! Keep em coming ..you are appreciated π Ursula x Ps will share later on Irish Life my online mag. Sent from my iPad
Thank you Ursula π Glad you like the photos. Markree is a beautiful place, if I get a chance and the weather is unusual I try and take photos there.
Thanks Ursula, glad you like the photos π Markree is a great place, very atmospheric.
’tis very true!
Still pretty awesome shots π Is that how you walked Rocket Dog? You drove really slow, lead out the window :p
lol Belle. No Rocket-dog got his walks…but it was way to cold to hang around snapping
π
I love this blog! Just shows beauty all around,no major effort needed to find-for those who have eyes to see…
What’s the problem with the sheep?! He wasn’t in a light to throw shadow-and they’re such blatantly curious animals they stand in front and just gaze.Same over at Windy Gap-they may look displaced in a photograph but are just making the point :’You’re on my territory!’.
Thanks Frances π
the sheep looked ‘unreal’ the one in front of the gatehouse. I looks like I copied and pasted him π
Appreciate your lovely photos all the time Val….just wanted to you know.
Thank you Judi π
