After my trips to Raghly and Lissadell I decided to visit Drumcliffe on my way back to Sligo town. W. B. Yeats is buried in the graveyard there.
The church is beautiful and well worth a look around.
I love the swans on the door of the church and also the attention to detail inside it.
It’s set against Benbulben mountain.
It’s a very popular place for tourists.
Across the road is the Round Tower. It wasn’t the best day when I was there, I would have preferred a blue sky đŸ˜‰
Afterwards I went into the Drumcliffe Tea House and had the biggest bit of banoffee pie I’d ever seen! It was fab.
They also do other lovely goodies and there is a gift shop as well so you’ll be spoilt for choice.
I don’t know why the writing has gone odd in this blog! I’ve tried to sort it out but it still looks the same…so sorry about that.
OMG that cake, nom nom nom đŸ™‚ well deserved treat after a hard days photography đŸ™‚
Yes that’s what I thought đŸ˜‰
Wonderful photos, and yum! The cakes!
