Today I got to trek around Markree Castle with Caroline from Markree Stables and Ailbhe and Laura. It really is a beautiful place and so nice to see it all on horseback.
Major was my horse and he was lovely. He did what he was told and I actually got to canter and stayed in the saddle 🙂
The sun shone on us and it was such a pleasure to be outside with such well behaved horses and lovely ladies (or should that be the other way around 😉 ).
The castle is a beautiful place, one of these days I must have a walk around and take more photos.
The castle is also a working farm so we saw tractors (both little and large), cows, sheep and even baby lambs.
Caroline was very brave and went into the river, closely followed by Ailbhe. I wasn’t brave and stayed on dry land 😉
If you are looking for a fun hour or two give Markree stables a call. I highly recommend it.
