Swap Sessions, Sligo

On Wednesday evening we went to Shells Cafe, Strandhill for the Swap Sessions in Sligo. It involved everyone clearing out their wardrobes and donating anything they no longer wanted and ‘swapping’ it for other clothes. It was all in aid of Motor neurone disease so it was for a great cause. There were some lovely items there, most of which wouldn’t go with my wellies and reflective jacket, so I only got a jumper. Lucy got a couple of nice tops though. We bought along two big bags full of clothes including some designer items so I was surprised when we just got 20 tokens (a token was worth one euro). I thought we might have got a bit more to be honest. The clothes there ranged from 3 tokens – 20 tokens. There were all kinds of clothes there and also shoes and accessories. I had to wonder at the person who donated play doh though.

There were lovely cupcakes for sale. They looked fantastic. The place was packed, I didn’t think so many people lived in Sligo. I hope if they have another one they might get a bigger venue. It was so packed it was hard to see all the clothes. One of the clothes racks kept collapsing as well.

There was a great raffle with clothes donated from Pixie Lott and Miriam O’Callaghan to name a couple. All in all it was a great night and we look forward to the next one.
