The first morning of Winter

The first morning of Winter, originally uploaded by magnum_lady.

This was this morning. What you can’t see is the ice. Poor Bertie was frozen so I had to put the fan heater into him so he could thaw out. In case some of you don’t know Bertie is the car.

The sunrise was lovely though and it turned into quite a nice day. Not as nice as yesterday when I managed to get the grass cut. I had a pedometer on me….I walked 3 miles just cutting the grass, that’s not a garden, that’s a field!

I took my mum into Sligo shopping yesterday. I was amused to see a cardboard cut out of Mary Byrne in Tesco. Sod’s law that I had to get the checkout girl who has a face like a slapped arse, really she couldn’t be any more miserable if she tried.

On a brighter note Sligo is getting two new shops. Holland and Barrett is opening in Johnston Court tomorrow and Heatons is opening on Thursday. After all the shops that have closed recently it’s nice to see some opening.

Oh yes I almost forgot. I heard today that my photo is going into another calendar. It’s a company called KPS colour print. It’s the misty horse photo. So that’s good news 🙂

  1. Congrats on your photo – well done you.
How many calenders will you have up in your house next year?:)

Sounds like you had a nice time in Dublin – lots going on.

  2. Just realised I have spelt calendar wrong! Wasn’t going to mention it in the hope that no-one would notice. Maybe they won’t or rather hadn’t until I mentioned it – sods law!m
