What we have once enjoyed we can never lose.

Well today is my dad’s first anniversary. Hence the title of this blog and the flower is one that I put on his grave.

It’s hard to believe he has been gone a year already. It really has flown by.

My mum had an anniversary mass for him last night. I went with her, although I’m not a bit religious….each to their own I guess. I preferred to go to dads grave and leave some plants and flowers there.

After the mass I was at home and we have a light with four bulbs in the living room. One of the bulbs started flickering like mad…..it went on for about half an hour. I’m sure that was dad trying to let me know he’s around.

Today we were in Currys in the retail park and I was looking at the tvs when a film title flashed up: ‘And when did you last see your father’….I know that was a co-incidence but thought it was strange all the same.

  1. Hope you’ve been able to look back at happy memories today Val. x A year goes by all too fast, always sounds longer than it actually is – after all it’s only one trip around the sun.
Hope you had a chat with your dad while the light was flickering, at the very least it would make me feel so much better knowing I’m not the one to chatter away to thin air when such things happen. 😉

    Hugs. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
