Groundhog Day

Groundhog Day, originally uploaded by magnum_lady.

Yes another day of snow, ice, bad roads, no gritters, nursing, tablets and scrabble here in Sligo.

It really is like Groundhog Day. I was awake half the night with Andy. He felt sick, he wanted a remegel, he spilt his water, then when I’d finally drifted off to sleep he wanted a hot water bottle!

I’ll be glad when I ‘retire’ from nursing.

I got about 4 hours sleep in the end, so not too bad. I’ve been keeping an eye on Ocean fms website today so see if Lucys school is closed. She’s due to go back tomorrow. Anyway it is closed so I breathed a sigh of relief because our lane is bad.

This afternoon Andy got up for a couple of hours, which is the first time in days. We played scrabble and cards.

Not sure if the Christmas decorations come down today or tomorrow. Lots of people say today, but it’s Little Christmas so I’m going to leave ours until tomorrow.

Hope you are all keeping warm out there.

  1. It’s 12th night – night of the 6th (ie tonight), but don’t let that worry you. We’ve took our tree down on Monday but have decided that the lights over the fireplace look so nice that we’re going to leave them up all year!! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas – sorry haven’t popped in for a while. Too many children, not enough time. Once the the snow has stopped and the little ones are back at school, I’ll be more like my old self! Lots of love xxx
