Lucy came to visit this weekend and we had a lovely time, it was just like the old days. She even cooked me dinner ๐
We went for long chatty walks and went shopping. I introduced her to the delight that is the Mint Aero Hot Chocolate in The Blind Tiger (good job we’d been walking!) I had the Easter Hot Chocolate but it couldn’t live up to the Aero one.
We went to the Flea Market in the Swagman Pub, I fell in love with a scarf with cats on it but I couldn’t justify spending a fiver on it, especially as I never wear scarves. Mind you I haven’t stopped thinking about it since.
We went to a lovely floristry demonstration in Feehily’s Florists (photos above). Squad goals to make something as beautiful as the designs that were made that night. When I went to try my hand at flower arranging before Christmas I ended up with glitter and pine trees everywhere and I mean everywhere! It was also lovely to meet one of the readers of my blog, this lady was so inspirational! It was brilliant chatting to her.
Going back to our dinner, we saw The Food Centre have started selling a Spice Bag mix. We had to give it a try. If you aren’t sure what it is the Chinese Takeaways sell spice bags and it’s also used in their Salt and Chilli chicken. We weren’t sure if it would be the same but Lucy added it to fried peppers, onions, Quorn pieces and chips and it was the business! Now you wouldn’t be eating it every night of the week because it has a really high salt content but it’s delicious as an occasional treat.
My friend anxiety came to pay a visit, which again took me by surprise, I always think I’ve won the battle and I soon realise I haven’t. It was easier to deal with though because Lucy was there and I was able to tell her how I was feeling.
So that was my weekend. I’m still full of this cold, I’ve never known anything last as long but I am feeling a lot better than I was, hopefully this week I’ll be back to normal โ whatever that is ๐
