Today was a brilliant day. Shells Cafe were having a Halloween Fancy Dress Surf Session so I headed along to Strandhill for a look.
It was raining when I arrived but cleared up in time for the lads and lassies to take to the sea.
Even the Zimmer frame was going surfing!!
There was a great atmosphere about the place with all kinds of ‘Halloween music’ playing.
It’s not every day you see a skeleton with a surfboard….only in Sligo.
Not only did the Zimmer frame make it out to the sea it even got held up!
The only thing is I now want to try surfing!!
Look at Myles doing a handstand on the surf board!! Brilliant!
Well done to everyone who took part and to Shells for organising such a great event. The rest of my photos are here.
Brilliant! Wish so much I could’ve been there – what great craic to be had in always brilliant, always cool, always happy Strandhill! 🙂 I was at the Ben Bulben market till 2, and by the time we packed up, we were just way too knackered to even head on over to Chapters for the Bram Stoker reading this afternoon.
Had we opted for Strandhill afterwards, though, I bet we’d have perked right up – the fun and the Hallowe’en energy was flying! Love these photos, Val!
Thanks June, yes it was brilliant, a great afternoon of fun.
