Rise of the Planet of the Apes

Some old photos for this blog that were taken at my ‘Breakfast at the zoo’ trip last year. It was a miserable day in Sligo (here I go again with the weather!) Anyway Jono won two cinema tickets from the Gaiety Cinema yesterday. So he and Lucy wanted to see Rise of the planet of the apes.

Too bad when we got there they told him he wasn’t allowed to use his free tickets today, he can only use them Monday-Thursday. We had already paid for the food then so what should have been a cheapish day out turned into an expensive one as I had to pay for the kids to get in (even though there were only two other people in the cinema!)

Well rant over. I decided to see the film as I had been discussing it with my twitter friends and it was a choice between wandering around Sligo in the rain or eating popcorn 😉 A few people were telling me what a good film it was and they were right.

Lucy has a thing about Tom Felton who plays Draco Malfoy in Harry Potter. He was also starring in this film (not as an ape!) So the minute he appeared on-screen I got an elbow in my ribs…I’m sure at least one of them is broken 😉

I don’t really want to give too much of the film away because it will spoil it for you but I thought it had a great storyline to it and I felt so sorry for the apes.

Here’s a trailer for you to watch.
