Coolaney Summer Festival 2011

This weekend was the Coolaney Summer Festival. Today was the family fun day which was great for families with young children as there were free bouncy castles and races for them. There wasn’t anything much for adults unless you are into football and it cost 10 euro a family or 5 euro an adult to get into the community park. I know the festival is to pay back a loan for the community but I think maybe a donation system would have been better.  There was a BBQ for an extra charge but I was a bit put off at the person touching raw meat and then cooked meat without gloves and the meat was out in the open not in a fridge or cool box so I wouldn’t chance it.

I enjoyed watching the dog agility display though. The dogs were so well trained. If I bought Rocket he would have ‘watered’ everything!

The sun shone which was a bonus 🙂

Yesterday there were some market stalls and live music in the village pubs. I enjoyed listening to Tabby (X Factor) in the River Inn. He’s a great singer.

On Friday the mobile cinema came to the village and showed two films. It’s a cool vehicle. It’s called Cinema North West if you want to find out more about it.

There was also the duck race on Friday night. My duck must still be swimming though because there wasn’t a sign of it 😉

The rest of my photos are here if you want a look.
