Well it’s been a funny old day…funny old year I suppose.

I took Jono into Sligo today to have a look at the place he was maybe going to go to. It’s a training centre for people with special needs. They run all different courses but all but one are funded by the HSE who have changed their rules and won’t take people until they are 18…..it was 16 until January.

So there is only one course he can go on which is funded by FAS. There is a waiting list for this and we now have to go back to FAS and see if they will approve him and also back to the centre for Jono to meet another member of staff.

The big downside is that you can only have 20 days off ill before you lose your place on the course and with Jono’s operation we know he will be off more then 20 days…..but we have no idea when the operation will be.

So everything is in limbo. Do we try and get him to start whenever there is a place. Or do we keep him at home until his operation. Why is life never straightforward?
