Tuesday Thoughts

Well, my Sunday Thoughts blog post really resonated with people. Thank you to everyone who got in touch. I now have plans for at least two afternoon teas, and I’ve already had a coffee and catch-up with a friend.

One of the downsides of social media and working online is that it can be very isolating. Sometimes it feels like I’m shouting into the void. This blog post reminded me that there are people out there who care, and that means more than you know.

It also showed me that so many people understand exactly what I meant by the invisible door.

A special thank you to my lovely friend Orla, who messaged me just after I published my blog post, and met me yesterday, listened while I had a rant, and reminded me that I’m not as useless as I sometimes think I am. I’m definitely my own worst enemy, and every now and then I need to give my head a wobble.

She also reminded me that “No” is a complete sentence, and that every no I say to someone else is a yes to myself. That’s something I need to remember.

Sometimes you just need someone who will listen without judgement, and Orla is one of those people. And that’s the thing about putting the call out. You soon find out who your friends are.

Thank you, Orla.
