The Blog is 14!

Can you believe the blog is now fourteen years old! On a dark day in 2009 the blog was born. It was started as an online diary then people started reading it so what went from a few readers turned into hundreds of thousands of visits and views.

The blog has seen and blogged about a global pandemic, the loss of my parents, family health issues, four house moves, two rescue dogs and the loss of one of them, getting two jobs, mental health issues, starting and stopping a business, a radio show, and lots of cake.

There have been thousands of photos, thousands of paintings, a fair bit of travel, adventures, mountains to climb, oceans to swim in, friends lost, friends gained, lots of events, three TV appearances, and four awards.

The kids turned into adults and left school. We’ve gained another member of the family with Laurence, and there is a wedding on the cards.

There have been a lot of ups and downs but usually always something positive to think about. The blog went from a diary to a tourist information point and now it’s a bit of everything.

The mojo has been lost more times than I care to remember but the blog has always been there and so have many of my readers who have stuck with me and I now consider to be friends. So thank you for reading, for your comments and most importantly for your kindness. Here’s to another fourteen years.

  1. Well done Val. I laughed at the ‘lost and found’ mojo. Think I’ve witnessed a few of those lol. You’re a powerhouse for such a teensy lady. Keep doing what you’re good at. Those who don’t appreciate you don’t deserve you. X
