Family friendly Christmas events in the North West

With so many things being cancelled over the last year or so, there’s more interest than ever for things to do this Christmas. Here are some things I’ve noticed in Sligo, Leitrim, Mayo and Roscommon, that might be of interest, as numbers are limited for most events early booking is advisable.

Winter Wonderland at Westport House, Co. Mayo. November 20th – December 23rd. Explore Tinsel Town through the Tunnel of Light. Santa is coming to the Sligo Folk Park in Riverstown. Although there’s no Santa Town this year there will still be a lot for the children to enjoy and you can take a socially distanced photo with Santa. Santa’s Underground Grotto is back at the Arigna Mining Experience in Roscommon. Sat 11th Dec & Sun 12th December with entertainment by Joe Daly (Magician).

Roscommon Christmas Festival will take place at the newly regenerated Town Square on the 11th and 12th December 2021 from 3pm to 8pm. The Creator Studio, Skreen, Sligo, will be transformed into Santa’s magical Grotto for children to come and visit Santa and hand him their Christmas list.
