Mid-September Morning

I love this time of year, especially when it’s a nice day. This morning was just beautiful, I woke up early as the sun was rising and the intention was to go to the gym.

As I was driving there and saw the mist on the fields I just couldn’t bring myself to be indoors on a treadmill. I went off chasing the sun and the mist. I saw so many ‘perfect’ shots but there was no where to park.

Instead of going into the gym at Kilronan Castle I took a walk. They have a woodland walk there that’s well marked and really lovely. It was just me and the birds and I walked/jogged through the forest, along the banks of Lough Meelagh.

When I got to the avenue leading to the castle I got very interested in the cobwebs, so I trudged through the long grass trying to get a good photo. I didn’t think about the wet grass though and my feet ended up drenched, I squelched through the day! I’ll never learn but it was so worth it.

You can find more details about the walk on the Visit Roscommon website.
