Creative Space – Milk Harbour Sligo

There is a great network of artists and creative folks here in Sligo and there are regular artist get togethers held in various places. One of those sessions was held today in the stunning location of Milk Harbour.

Geraldine and Steve Barker own an amazing property at Milk Harbour, which is between Grange and Cliffoney in North Sligo. To say I was blown away by this place would be an understatement. The minute I set foot in their beautiful property I felt a sense of calm. Where ever you look there is stunning scenery, whether you look out at the front over the harbour or the back towards Mullaghmore and Classiebawn Castle. There are also views of O’Connor and Dernish Islands and further afield you can see Slieve League.

From the large studio area you can see the seal colony and you can’t help but feel inspired. I wanted to move in to be honest. Their objective is to provide a fulfilling, memorable holiday destination; from which to experience the activities on offer and explore the heritage, culture, landscape, music and other key attractions of the region.

I think if you stayed here you wouldn’t want to leave. They’ve only been open for business for a short time and have a couple of retreats planned; the yoga one which happens at the end of this month is fully booked, the artist retreat (with Poilin and Tan -both wonderful) has limited places available.

The bedrooms are all en-suite and there is such great attention to detail, it’s all just beautiful. You can look out over the Wild Atlantic Way and just take some time out. Don’t take my word for it, head over to the website and see for yourself and if you are looking for a holiday with a difference this is one to check out.
