Another busy day in San Francisco. I started off the morning with a cable car ride while Jono had a sleep in. When he was up and about we headed to Pier 39 again.
I love the pier, especially the sea lions and there are some really cool shops there including a Christmas shop so it’s Christmas all year round.
We had tickets for the Aquarium of the Bay so we headed there and both really enjoyed it. There was so much to see and it was very cool ‘walking under the bay’.
I think the jellyfish were my favourites, although it was all really cool. We were planning to go back to the pier this evening but we were both too tired so we’ll go back tomorrow. It’s very handy to get around San Francisco with the muni transport, the buses, trams and cable cars run all over and are very frequent.
This afternoon Jono was with his friends watching the final of the Pokemon World Championships and also the closing ceremony so I went exploring with our friends Susan and Peter.
We went up to Twin Peaks which has the best view of the city. It’s really breathtaking, although it’s very windy up there.
We took a spin over the Bay Bridge to visit Oakland, where there is a very pretty lake – and it’s much warmer than San Francisco.
I took the BART (underground train) back to the city and met Jono after the closing ceremony and we headed to Japantown which he really wanted to visit. It’s a great place and he really enjoyed looking around.
Tomorrow is our last day and Jono hasn’t got to see the Golden Gate Bridge up close, so that’s the plan for tomorrow.
