I was delighted to go along to the ‘Hidden Histories’ Book Launch in Sligo today. I volunteered to do some research and take photos for the project which was run by Sligo Leader. I really enjoyed it and it was great to find out more about Sligo especially the places I researched: Markree Castle, Temple House and Coopershill. I also met some really nice people and only got one minor injury when I had to climb over a gate and landed in a pothole!! That’s quite good going for me 🙂
I can’t begin to tell you how exciting it was to see my photos in the book. I never print any of my pics so to see them in real life and not on a computer screen was just something else. It takes away the disappointment of not being in the final of the Irish Blog Awards.
Above are just some of the people involved in the book. I’m hoping they’ll be a Hidden Histories 2 as I’ve since discovered Kevinsfort House and I would have loved for that house to be included in the book. I’m sad to say the book isn’t on sale as it isn’t for profit but there is a copy in Chapter’s Coffee House, Bridge Street, Sligo (so grab a cuppa and have a look) and there should be a copy going into Sligo library.
Well done on getting your work published!
Thank you 🙂
