Yesterday was the Lough Gill Swim in aid of North West Hospice 2013. Brave swimmers took to the water at Parke’s Castle, Leitrim and swam the 10km to Doorly Park, Sligo.
The event is the brain child of Paul McGarry. Paul sadly lost his nephew Neil McGarry to cancer. The excellent care he received at the North West Hospice inspired Paul to organise a fundraiser for the hospice. The primary purpose of the swim is to raise much needed funds for North West Hospice, Sligo. Last year over €24,000 was raised and €11,000 in 2011.
