We went to Carrick-on-Shannon today for the first car boot sale after Christmas. We were hoping it would be a really good one…but it was rubbish. The weather probably didn’t help, it was misty and raining a bit and it was blooming cold. So we decided to go bowling, we haven’t been in years. I won! It was a fluke though. I wish we had a bowling alley in Sligo again, I’d certainly go more often it we did.
Before the bowling we had a look around the shops. We had a bit of a dance in Quidsworth and could hear the staff laughing….we realised they were watching us on CCTV…whoops!
It’s great fun isn’t it Val, I also haven’t been since we moved to Ireland, so approximately 6 years. You’ve given me the urge to go again 🙂
It was great Claire, I’d forgotten how much I enjoy bowling.
There used to be a bowling alley in Sligo? I’d have loved to have gone there – I love bowling. We went to a bowling alley in Boyle, I think…possibly it was Carrick, but it was so long ago now, I can’t remember. I do remember there being a go-kart indoor racing thing there too…and an excellent Chinese restaurant. But again, this was years ago, when we first moved here.
I’m pretty sure there’s a bowling alley in Bundoran, though. Near Lidl and the SuperValu shopping centre and a multiplex cinema.
Now I’ve got the urge to go bowling, too. I’d forgotten how much we enjoyed it when we went there, years ago. Thanks for the reminder, Val.
It was great fun June. The Bundoran bowling alley is cheaper than Carrick-on-Shannon. There is a go-kart racing thing in Carrick too.
The Sligo bowling alley must have been there in the early 1990’s, it’s such a shame it’s gone.
