Soon it will be Christmas Day

Well the Christmas cake is iced, the presents are wrapped (well most of them), the stockings are ready to be hung so I guess we are all ready for the big day. It always amazes me how many people leave things until the last-minute. It was like no one told them Christmas was coming. I had to take my mum to Ballymote yesterday and it was like something from a film. There were cars abandoned everywhere and people rushing all over the place….madness.

It’s been a busy week. The kids didn’t finish their courses until Thursday, but at least I get a break from ‘taxi driving’ for a while. On my travels I saw these poor trees outside Homebase. Really they had seen better days and I reckon they’d be bald by the time they got home…if anyone decided to buy one.

When I came out of the shops at the retail park I noticed this muppet had parked right in the back of me….even though there were a load of spaces. Luckily there was no damage to my car even though the jeep was touching it. I wouldn’t mind but there was a least a foot of parking space behind him.

I walked Sligo looking for a Jedward bar…for me. I was delighted when I finally found one. There is a golden ticket in one of them to meet the boys….and I could feel something in my bar. So Lucy opened it carefully and I was so excited…only to find it was a bit of cardboard 😦 Lucy started singing ‘Cheer up Charlie’ to me. Now if I get another bar with a golden ticket I will be very happy πŸ˜€

On Thursday night we went to Source Sligo. There were local musicians playing Christmas songs there. It was a lovely evening, the place was packed and there was a great atmosphere. I was too far away to get any decent photos of the singers, so you can look at the food instead πŸ˜‰ I did manage to get a bit of video though. Below you can see Joe Hunt and his dad singing ‘Little Drummer Boy’

Finally I’ll leave you with the crib I made…I clearly need to get out more.

I won’t tell you what happened to them after they were cooked:

So here it is Merry Christmas….I hope you all have a lovely one.
