Now for a rant

Well it’s official I’m sick of snow! I didn’t mind it too much when we had lovely little fluffy snowflakes that landed on the ground and thawed out after about an hour……but it’s seriously beyond a joke now.

Once again we are snowed in. We have had the worst snow I can remember in my 42 years. It keeps sliding off the roof and scaring the bejaysus out of us. Then to add insult to injury at 1.30am we were woken up by massive (and I mean massive) hailstones hitting off the skylights. These things were so big they made holes in the snow.

The only positive thing I can say about the snow is that it makes nice photo’s.

While I’m on the subject of ranting. Over dinner we were talking about supermarkets. There are a few things that bug me about them….well not about the supermarket but about the customers. Why do people (especially elderly ladies) think it’s fine for them to walk through the fruit and veg. section and just help themselves to grapes. There’s usually one poor bunch of grapes with just one left on it! Firstly it’s not theirs to take and also don’t they know they need washing before eating.

Also people help themselves to banana’s, eat the banana, get to the self service checkout and then just weigh the skin! That’s not right. I think if I ran a supermarket I’d be tempted to weigh people as they enter the shop and again as they leave and charge them for the weight difference! 😉

Another thing, why do people queue up at the deli counter for a sandwich or roll. Ask for the filling, take the food and then on their way to the checkout decide they don’t want it and dump it in the nearest freezer? So as you are buying your fish fingers, chips etc you come across some random abandoned sandwich slowly freezing…..aww. What happens to these people between the deli and the checkout??

Right I’ve finished ranting now. Here’s another photo for you.

  1. I love the idea of weighing customers in and out of the supermarket and I absolutely agree with you. It’s theft!

These are great photographs, thanks for sharing. It’s been so cold here in Yorkshire today, that the hoare frost has been with us all day, even through the sunshine.
