French Market, originally uploaded by magnum_lady.
Well it’s been a busy weekend here. It’s a bank holiday here in Ireland today and the kids are off school this week as well which is great as I really needed a break from school runs.
Sligo Live was on this weekend. I’ve never seen the town so busy. It had a great atmosphere about the place. There was loads going on for the kids to do and live music in various places. Most of the events were free. Also the French Market was in town. It’s lovely to see all the colourful stalls down by the river. There is a short bit of video here:
More photos on flickr.
On Saturday night we went to see ‘Whose Line is it Anyway’. I won tickets from the Harlequin Hotel in Castlebar. The show was on at the Royal theatre.
The show starred Stephen Frost, Steve Steen, Andy Smart and Ian Coppinger and Phill Jupitus. They were all so funny. The audience shout out suggestions and they have to act them out. I was laughing so much my sides still hurt the next day. I’m also slightly starstruck now as Phill Jupitus sent me a message on twitter 😀
I’m should have stayed afterwards to meet the guys as they were all at the bar….but I was too shy. So I will have to make do with this rubbish photo I took.

Hiya,
lovely photos – sounds like a great weekend – I’ve just been on a sight about the French Market and it had your pictures on – wow. Looks like I have picked the wrong w/e to come – would have loved to have seen it.
(Will send email about later this week – just off shopping!)x
Great blog, thanks for sharing, I particularly love the music of the two groups of youngsters you showed, very talented and everyone looked as if they were having a relaxed time.

Thanks, there is always a great buzz around the town when the festivals are on.
