Coolaney Summer Festival, 2010

This weekend is the Coolaney Summer Festival.

Coolaney is a small village in County Sligo, which is in the North West of Ireland…..right that’s the geography part over 😉

Anyway last night was the ‘grand opening’. There were various events taking place including:
Picking the shpuds, stacking the turf, hanging the washing on the line, guess the weight of the pony (I wish I’d known about that sooner it was in the field up from us…..I could have weighed it 😉 )
The strongest man and woman in the village (which involved holding a saucepan full of cement for as long as possible). There are a few photos here.

There was also a mini ‘farmville’, hence the photo of the alpaca and a cow dung lottery…..although I didn’t see a cow there so I don’t know where it crapped…..probably not on my number anyway.

Tonight is a ‘bad shirt’ disco, but as I’m very stylish I can’t possibly go to that.

Tomorrow is a family fun day, so weather permitting we shall go and have a gander to see what’s happening.

    1. Thanks Sheila, there wasn’t too much going on today so we only stayed for a little while. It would have been good if I was into football or bouncy castles. x
