Sligo Farmers Market, originally uploaded by magnum_lady.
Today I took Jono to Hazelwood forest for a little walk around. We fed the ducks and swans, my finger got ‘savaged’ by a swan who mistook it for a crumpet!
Then we went to the Sligo Farmers Market. It’s held in the car park of the Sligo IT every Saturday morning. They had some lovely things for sale. We were especially looking for some cheese with chilli in it. Jono loves cheese and also loves anything spicy. They didn’t have any there today though.
I bought some apple chutney and cakes. One of the ladies on the stall gave Jono a bag full of samples for free, he was delighted.
As we were leaving the market we noticed a dog ‘watering’ the carrots on the ground…..oh dear. Then as we were driving off we noticed people picking up the watered carrots….hmmm. Here is a more up to date blog about the market.
I love farmers markets – the different cheeses and meats … i don’t think I’d be keen on the ‘watered carrots’ though!
