Well today was Grand National day and every year we have a little flutter. Mum backed Comply or Die and I backed My Will. I only put two euro each way on it, so have probably won about 50 cent. I didn’t watch the race though as we needed to go into town and sort Jono’s glasses out.
Lucy was also wanting to get a cd and some shoes (more shoes!) Luckily she bumped into her friends in town and they went off shopping with her and Jono and I went to an exhibition at the model:niland called Signals in the dark: Art in the shadow of war. http://sligomodelblog.wordpress.com/ There is some really good graffiti to do with the exhibition in the old Castle interiors premises. I’ve taken some photo’s which are on my flickr page.
When we met up with Lucy she still hadn’t gone shoe shopping, so we had that pleasure…..I hate shopping as I’ve mentioned before.
We called into see mum on the way home and her ball cock is broken……oooerrr missus. So that’s a job for Andy to do.
We also called in to the Connacht Gold store. They’ve got some lovely pets including tiny newborn mice and a parrot called Charlie who was really friendly…..I would love to bring them all home.

I backed Irish Invader which came 11th and Rambling Minster pulled up at the 19th. I think I’ll stick to losing my money on the lottery.

Oh crikey – don’t even get me started on The Grand National. Have just written a post about it too. Turns out my favourite race ever and the only thing I ever bet money on may just have left my poor daughter emotionally scarred forever!
I lost too – I blame my Dad – he always told me to ‘have a go on the national’ and I always have – never won though……..
Take my advice – steer clear of furry animals it’s mad here – 1 greyhound, 1 cat and a very brave guinea pig!!!!!
