So what do I have to tell you today. Well it was just a normal Monday, the usual shopping in Sligo, minus the muvver, because my dad came back from the nursing home and can’t be left on his own..he has a habit of trying to stand up and falling over, a bit like a Weeble (do you remember them…I used to love them!) anyway I disgress and weebles wobble but they don’t fall down. Dad wobbles and does fall down (poor old fella).
Back to todays story. I was going around town and popped into Tesco for a few bits and pieces and came across a pigeon, he didn’t have a trolley or basket and I don’t think he worked there. He seemed quite interested in the Andrex toilet rolls. Maybe Andrex should change their puppy to a pigeon. So I stalked him for a bit, until a lady came up and asked if he was mine! Yes I always take a pigeon shopping with me 😉
In the end Mr. Pigeon left the store and so did I. I went to Dunnes…oh the excitement 😉 I got the trolley from hell. I went one way and it went the other. I’m sure I’ve got a hernia. I met my friend in the shop and talked for too long…I have verbal diarrhoea.
I was sad to see Zavvi in town finally gone today. I used to like that shop. Johnston Court seems very empty now, which is a shame as its a lovely shopping centre. I was hoping that someone might save the Sligo Zavvi, but sadly not. I suppose a lot of people like downloading music these days…not me though…I like to have something in me hand (oooer missus!)…I mean a cd: I like to read the booklets and the lyrics and look at the pictures. Third Wave music in town is quite good though, but not as much selection as Zavvi had.
I just want to say thanks to the people who have taken the time to leave comments on my blogs (this sounds like an Oscar acceptance speech…I’ll start blubbing in a minute…or jumping up and down like Tigger 😉
Just to mention a couple of websites. One that I’ve found recently www.sligotv.ie which is a great site with a load of interviews, if anything is happening in Sligo they will know about it.
The other one is www.sligotoday.ie its an online newspaper and is updated daily. Has all the up to date news in Sligo on it.

it doesn’t surprise me to see a pigeon in tesco, but fancy being asked if you’re together! lol! i wished you had taken her photo- wished you had said yes! lol!

Guess they needed to know whose pigeon it was so they could charge the owner for the food it’s scoffing on the way around. Personally i think it should be given the job of store cleaner.
Our Zavvi in Sheffield is gone now too…. don’t know where to go now to get ipod earphones at a reasnable price, I’m sure my kids eat them.
