If there’s one shop window you need to see in Sligo, it’s The Christmas Emporium on Grattan Street. Brian from Mc G Cakes always puts so much effort into his window displays, and this year is no exception. But make sure you don’t just admire the windows, because when you walk through the door, it’s like stepping into Christmas.
The back of the shop has been transformed with twinkling lights and Christmas scenes, and it’s packed with all sorts of Christmas goodies. It’s a lovely place to have a wander around, and you’ll find yourself spotting something different every time you look. There’s even a post box for the little ones to post their letters to Santa!
There’s a great selection of gifts, including artisan Irish food products and Irish chocolates, including the award-winning Sugarplum Sweetery. Then, of course, there’s the Mc G Cakes selection. You’ll find the famous cookie sandwiches, mince pies, biscuit cakes and lots more. I never leave empty handed!
You will also find hand-painted Irish Christmas baubles, cards, train sets, personalised Christmas ornaments, gift wrapping and even a selection of gifts for your dog.
From Santas and angels to woolly hats and ear muffs, there’s all kinds of everything under one roof.
