Sunday Thoughts

Happy Sunday, and happy August. Although, looking outside, you wouldn’t think it was August. Grey skies and light showers have taken over.

It’s been a busy week, but thankfully it’s a bank holiday weekend and I plan to do very little. I have a few blog posts to catch up on after several adventures over the past week, and I can’t wait to share them with you.

I had a routine doctor’s appointment this week and got the all clear from a routine test, which was a relief. I do need to get my cholesterol down, though, so the treats will have to become an occasional thing instead of a regular habit (ignore my waffle yesterday!). The funny part is that my cholesterol has actually dropped since my last blood test. I’ll take that as a win. My B12 is still within the normal range, although it has dropped quite a bit, so that’s something I’ll be keeping an eye on.

Anyway, enough of the medical updates.

A huge thank you to everyone who got in touch about my honesty farm shop post. I never expected it to get the reaction it did. I happened to be in Strandhill, called in for a bag of salad, and shared it because I’d met the lads there before and knew they were happy for me to post about the shop. I honestly didn’t think twice about it. Then again, social media has a way of turning almost anything into a debate.

People keep telling me I need a thicker skin. Maybe they’re right, but it’s easier said than done. I’m a bit of a softy, and when people come at me with complaints, I do take it personally.

I nearly visited another honesty shop yesterday, but after this week’s reaction I decided against it. I just couldn’t be bothered inviting more criticism.

On a much happier note, I received a lovely email this week inviting me to an event later this year. It came from somewhere I visited a couple of months ago and wrote about on the blog. It was such a lovely surprise to know my post had been noticed, and the event sounds right up my street. You’ll definitely be hearing more about that soon.

I do have more to tell you, but those stories deserve blog posts of their own.
