It’s another Sunday, it’s also another miserable day. I’m looking out at a very grey sky, and it’s raining. I was going to go for a walk today, but it seems I’m a fair weather walker. When I had the dogs I was out in all weathers, but I have become very lazy.
Christmas is looming, and I’m not at all organised. The shops are hectic already, even early in the morning. You take your life in your hands going around the supermarket, and I’m not even going to mention the car parking!
Things are fine, I had a quiet enough start to the week, and I’ve finally shifted my cold. Not before time, it was a lingerer for sure. We had our work Christmas meet-up on Thursday, I always get myself a bit rattled on the lead up to events. I find myself going through possible conversations in my head, so I’m usually tired before I even arrive. I shouldn’t have worried though, because I work with a lovely time, and it was a wonderful night. It was so lovely to see everyone again too. I work from home, so I don’t often see the team, and it’s great to catch-up.
We went to Carrick-on-Shannon, and the town looks beautiful. It’s a credit to everyone involved. We had dinner at The Oarsman, which is always wonderful, and I loved the guitar player, he was brilliant.

I wore a dress for a change, one that I bought ages ago, but as I don’t go out much I hadn’t worn it. I thought I looked OK, so I posted a pic on Facebook. I upset a keyboard warrior who had a pop at me though – isn’t there always one? It’s not the first time this person has done it either, I let it slide before, but I’ve blocked him now. I don’t get why people feel the need to be nasty – I’m pretty sure that he wouldn’t have said it to my face.

Anyway, enough of all that. I went to a bodhran class on Saturday morning. I’m trying to do some nice things this month, and this was enjoyable. I’ve never played a bodhran before, so it was good to try something different. I was the oldest one there, but nevermind. Age is only a number. Thanks to Kelly from Quarryfield Farm for taking the pic, and Brendan from So Funny Sligo Comedy Festival for making me far more flexible than I am. It did give me a giggle.
I hope you are all keeping well, and I wish you a relaxing Sunday, and a good week ahead. Thanks for reading.
Val, you look beautiful in that black dress, and heels as well , you’re braver than me, good for you!
Good luck getting around the shops and car parks.
Thanks Jackie, I hope you are keeping well x
