Sunday Thoughts

Happy Sunday! It’s time for another Sunday Thoughts blog post, which is really just a round-up of my week I suppose although I haven’t really done that much this week.

I had my first B12 injection on Tuesday, and my energy came back with a bang at 10pm that night, much to the horror of the lads, I’m sure. Talk about 0 – 60 in 60 seconds! The energy lasted all day Wednesday, and I was off bright and early exploring.

I took a spin to Belleek Woods in Ballina; I was searching for squirrels. I didn’t see any, but I did meet a fellow photographer, who showed me the best spots to find the squirrels, and we had a nice chat about photography. I’d never met him before, but I’ve since followed him on Instagram, and his photographs are stunning. You can find Peter here.

On my way home I called into The Ocean Sands Hotel in Enniscrone, for their Chef’s Table event. I wasn’t sure if I should be there (story of my life), but for the first time in a long time I wasn’t anxious, and I really enjoyed the event, and enjoyed chatting with everyone. You can read about the event here.

I think I’ve been so anxious for so long that I kind of thought it was part and parcel of me. Now I’m wondering if it was just the lack of B12. Who knows? But it was lovely to feel at ease and not wanting to run back to my car and hide.

I came home, did some work, and even painted a bit in the afternoon. I can’t remember the last time I picked up a paintbrush. I was delighted.

The downside was that on Thursday I was flattened. I think it made me feel worse because I’d had such a good day on Wednesday and thought it would continue. No such luck, and I spent Thursday trudging through tasks, and having to go for a nap in the afternoon.

My second B12 injection was on Friday morning. I told the nurse about my huge boost of energy and how I’d been feeling rough since. She said I’d probably been running on empty for so long that the first injection kicked in quickly, but she thinks I’ll feel much better when I’ve had all five injections. Fingers crossed.

The second injection didn’t do anything, except give me a pain in my arm, which has finally gone today, thankfully. I’m back again tomorrow for number three.

I met a friend yesterday for coffee, I haven’t seen her in months, so it was great to have a proper chat and a catch-up, she does make me laugh too. I also called in to say hello to Yellow Bird Bakes, I try to support local businesses whenever I can, and I wish Linda all the best.

One of the things I’m asked the most recently is if I’ve got an outfit for Lucy’s wedding. The answer is no; I have looked in a couple of places – think polyester and stiff brocade outfits! Neither of which I would choose. I went to a place that was recommended and was just browsing, I went to go to the back of the shop and one of the assistants barked that the dresses there were only for the mother of the bride or groom. I was going to explain that I was the mother of the bride, but I was so taken aback that I just left the shop. I wouldn’t choose to give them my money anyway. I’m going shopping on Saturday with Lucy, so maybe we’ll see something. Watch this space.

That’s about my lot for now. Wishing you all a good week ahead and thank you for reading.
