Sligo’s Newest Cafe Opens – Chillin Time, Ballymote

Chillin Time Cafe is a brand new cafe in Ballymote, Co. Sligo. I’d been watching the progress of the mural over the last couple of months and was delighted to see the cafe open. The mural is beautiful, painted by local artists Samantha Rausch and Ami Scanlon, and inspired by the view of the family’s homeplace in Carrigans Lower, Ballymote.

I met Kassie, Johnny, and all the team and they were all so friendly and welcoming. Johnny was telling me about the wood used on the sign, it came from a former church in Chigaco, and it dates back to the 1800s.

The cafe is in the former Credit Union Building, and they even have the old counter hatch displayed on the wall, I was at that hatch many times!

At the moment they are serving cakes, scones, sandwiches and salads, but they will be rolling out the breakfast menu in the coming weeks when they get settled. They also have an extensive drinks menu. I had a lovely milkshake and a cake, and I will be back.

Opening hours are:
Saturday 9am – 7pm
Sunday 10am – 4pm
Monday to Friday 7am – 9pm

Wishing all the team the very best of luck and every success. Find them on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/chillintimecafe

This isn’t a sponsored post, I paid for my food and drink.
