When I visited Sligo Children’s Community Garden I was delighted to meet Trisha, one of the founding members of the garden and also the owner of Sligo Woodland School. I’ve followed the school on Facebook for a number of years, and I just love what Trisha is doing.

Sligo Woodland School will nurture children’s creative connection with nature. They will creatively explore natural materials while engaging in a range of outdoor art & craft adventures such as: Foraging and making nature based art and craft, nature embodiment games & songs, creating a fairy village & den building, and so much more.

Trisha runs a number of camps throughout the year (the summer ones are fully booked), she also hosts birthday parties and other events. The school is located in Cleveragh, so it’s very handy for those in Sligo town, and it’s a very special place. I’d heard amazing things about it before I visited.
