The Sligo Show – My Interview

It’s been a very exciting week for me, Brendan Tierney – who hosts The Sligo Show asked if I’d go along to be interviewed. I was honoured to be asked – and terrified – but I went along for the craic. I didn’t need to worry as Brendan is a fantastic interviewer, he made me feel very comfortable and relaxed.

The Sligo Show is filmed by Brian from Pixel Productions, he’s an absolute professional, and very calm. The studio is in The Riverside Hotel in Sligo town, and it’s brilliant, I love the set. So hats off to Brendan and Brian for such a great idea for a show and for doing such a good job, and it’s all voluntary.

Each week they interview someone living in Sligo and they also have local music, news, and an entertainment guide.

My full interview is below. If you’ve listened to my radio show you’ll know I ramble, this was no exception, I do go off on a tangent. I have an awful lot to say! I talk about my love for Sligo, my ideas for the place, my favourite spots, and some of my adventures. I also talk about mental health and the things that have helped me.

Thanks so much to Brendan for giving me this opportunity, I really enjoyed it.

  1. Well done Val, a great interview, you are an outstanding ambassador for Sligo and the surrounding counties.

  2. Finally got to listen to the show and I must say Val, you did yourself and Sligo proud. You know that I have been following you for a while now, and now I can not wait for my wife and I can get back to the land we love and meet you in person. Keep up the very good work, your Ohio friend, Jack
