51 today!

It’s my birthday today! 51 although I feel like I’m 21. I’ve had a wonderful day and got some lovely pressies. Lucy and Laurence got me a voucher for afternoon tea in Cawley’s, Tubbercurry at Christmas so we used today.

You will be hungry reading this. It was a wonderful afternoon! Teresa from Cawley’s is such a lovely person, warm and welcoming to all her customers. Our table was laid out with vintage china and fresh flowers…..and the food was something else!

Lucy is vegetarian but there was so much choice for her, including avocado rolls, delicate cucumber sandwiches, goats cheese tomatoes, bruschetta, vegetable quiche and that’s just to name a few!

I had beautiful smoked salmon, ham and pate – and tried half the veggie ones too. It was all so delicious! As for the sweet selection – where do I start?

There were macarons, rum truffles, trifle, cheesecake, muffins, strawberries dipped in chocolate and the most amazing white chocolate mousse in dark chocolate cases!

If that wasn’t enough there were fresh scones with butter, cream and a selection of jams and jelly from Murson Farm. We tried to eat everything but it beat us, the staff were lovely enough to wrap it all up for us to bring home.

We were absolutely stuffed and waddled out of there. I’d highly recommend Cawley’s to anyone – keep a look at their Facebook page as they have a new menu coming out soon, ssh though it’s a secret (at the moment).
