It’s hard to believe that it’s over a year since the Havin’ a Laugh coffee mornings began. When I was at my lowest I really missed having people to go for coffee with so I suggested to Blaithin from Havin’ a Laugh that a Social Coffee Morning might be a nice idea for people to drop in for a chat. She agreed, The Blind Tiger offered us a home and here we are a year later.
I took a bit of a step back over the summer due to work commitments but the coffee mornings continued with different hosts and always a smiling, friendly face.
On Monday the coffee morning will be the annual fundraiser so we will not only have coffee and a chat but there will also be cake, biscuits and a raffle. We are very grateful to those who have donated a prize so far we have:

Well you all know my battle with depression and anxiety. I’ve had some extremely low days. Something that has helped me enormously is the Havin’ a Laugh Charity.
On the darkest days it was and still is very hard to think ahead. Knowing that there is support out there makes all the difference. There is a light at the end of a very dark tunnel.
Depression is such an isolating illness. It’s also bloody frightening. There are times when you don’t know where you are going and what you are doing. The idea behind the coffee mornings are to let others, who may be suffering out there that they are not alone, there are people who know just how they feel. All are welcome to the coffee mornings, you don’t have to suffer from mental health issues, it’s open to all, children included.
Havin’ a Laugh Charity was established by Rennafix Group to promote positive mental health through life-enhancing activities. You can find them here.
Wish I could be there, but I’ll show up for one someday. How often are they held?
They are once a month, usually the first Monday of the month. Always a lovely morning
