Coolaney – a Community with Spirit

Back in April I wrote about the village I live in, Coolaney, and how they opened a pop-up cafe in the local community centre. It has been run by the community, for the community. Everyone who works in the cafe is a volunteer, it’s been a great learning curve and so much fun.

Cafe Fia has now opened for the second 8 week pop-up but as it’s in the community centre it has to be ‘popped-up and popped-down’ every weekend. It would be great to have a permanent premises and hopefully this would create some jobs as well as providing a lovely cafe in our rural village.

A Go Fund Me page has been set up so if you’d like to donate something that would be wonderful. Or even if you could spread the word, that would be great too.

This is such a wonderful idea; I would like to share this idea on my Facebook page, not sure how you feel about that? It seems like the rest of the world could do with an idea like this pop-up café. Bringing the community together, fundraising, feeding the less fortunate…..
