Being Pampered at Sligo Hairdressing Academy

I can’t remember the last time I had my hair done. I usually make do with a hair tie and a can of L’Oreal root touch up! So today was a real treat.

Last month Frances from Sligo Hairdressing Academy contacted me after hearing my interview on Ocean FM about Jono’s Journey. Frances offered to run pamper days in aid of our fundraising campaign. It was also the perfect chance for ladies to get their hair done at an excellent price.

It was my turn to be pampered today. I met David, who had his final assessment to carry out, he was excellent at suggesting things that would suit me. He suggested highlights as my hair was very dark and quite draining. He also suggested layers and I wanted a good lot taken off the length which he agreed with as there were a lot of split ends.

I think I lost about half a stone in weight just from the hair cut!!! My head feels so much lighter! The colour is a massive change for me as I’ve been dark all my life. Apart from when I was ginger as a child and the time I had blonde highlights when I was 18 – I looked horrendous! If I find a photo I’ll post it up.

Goodbye Hair

Frances was on hand supervising all the students and I love the result of my ‘new do’. I will certainly be back to Sligo Hairdressing Academy again. In even better news they raised a massive €305 for #JonosJourney which is just amazing.

Thank you so much Frances and David and all at Sligo Hairdressing Academy, also thank you to all the people who supported their pamper days. You can find out more about the Academy here. Check out Lucy’s blog about her pampering session here.
