One of my Christmas presents from Lucy and Jono was a voucher for a seaweed bath at Eros Spa in the Yeats Country Hotel. I love going for a bit of relaxation and things have been pretty hectic recently with one thing and another so I took a day out for myself.
Yeats Country Hotel is located in picturesque Rosses Point, Sligo. The poet WB Yeats spent many summers in Rosses Point and it’s easy to see how the beautiful scenery inspired him. I was a bit early for my seaweed bath so I went for a little walk and watched the kite surfers…that’s something I’d love to try! I’d got back to the car just before a hail shower.
The hotel had a lovely log fire blazing, very welcoming for the poor souls that got caught in the shower. When I went up to the spa I was greeted by one of the therapists and given a fluffy robe and slippers.
My bath was ready for me and it was 45 minutes of pure bliss. I almost fell asleep but I had my book with me and I’m so hooked on it I couldn’t put it down! (It’s Afterwards by Rosamund Lupton in case you are wondering).
After my bath I was invited to lounge in the relaxation room which was like a little suntrap. So more reading and chilling – it’s a hard life 😉
My day was rounded off with a picnic overlooking the Wild Atlantic Way. I should really do this more often, it was like a mini holiday and did me the world of good.
