Summer Dining at Harrisons

Harrison's

Lucy and I were delighted to be invited along to Harrison’s Bar and Restaurant in Cliffoney to try out their new summer menu. We went along just after our snorkelling trip in Mullaghmore so we were both really hungry which was just as well because we had a feast!

Soda Pop

As soon as we arrived we were welcomed by Declan, the owner of Harrison’s, who introduced us to our waiter Darren who was going to look after us for the evening. Darren gave us the most delicious soda pop, these were just fab. If summer was a drink this would be it! They were so refreshing and the perfect start to our meal, they are also caffeine free – and I’m sure they are calorie free too 😉

Tempura Chicken

Now for the starters,we decided to share the Tempura Chicken. It was delicious, the batter was light and crispy and I loved the presentation of it.

Taste of the Atlantic

To our surprise Darren gave us a ‘Taste of the Sea’ which is new on the menu and is a starter for two to share. It consisted of potted crab and prawn in Marie Rose sauce, tempura cod with chilli and tomato jam, smoked salmon mousse and garlic bread. It was so lovely and a great idea to have a sharing starter.

Harrison's main courses

Now on to the main courses. Lucy ordered steak which was served with onions, pepper sauce and home-made chips. I had the chicken marsala which was served on champ and also came with vegetables. We were also given the Monkfish special to try. Everything was really lovely, full of flavour – we were struggling to eat it all though – it’s a hard life.

Harrison's Desserts

Even though we were both really full you are never too full for dessert…and of course we had to sample it! Lucy went for the trio of desserts which was cheesecake, home-made pistachio ice cream with popping candy (which was fab!) and warm chocolate brownie with cream – I had to try a bit of each, just for research purposes you know 😉 I had the lemon posset which I had on my previous visit and it’s really delicious, light, fluffy and refreshing. The perfect end to a perfect meal.

Harrison’s was very busy on the night we were there but we weren’t rushed at all. It was a lovely, leisurely meal with wonderful food and very attentive staff. It’s easy to see why they have won awards for customer service.

Thank you so much Declan and all at Harrison’s for a lovely evening.
