Return to Jesus Christ Superstar

12327593115_8be32e2e9e_bThe fantastic Jesus Christ Superstar performed by The Fun Company Sligo returned to the Hawk’s Well Theatre on Tuesday night. I was delighted to go along and see it again and to take some photos.

12328017214_5572d9dc5e_bI really can’t praise this show highly enough. All the performers are such professionals and it’s beautifully choreographed. The singing is fantastic and the live orchestra is perfect.

12327555035_3a4265e1cd_bThe cast and crew should be very proud of this wonderful production. If you went to see it in August it’s well worth going back to see again because somethings have changed and there are some new cast members.

12327769334_c60ac73632_bI got to go backstage when I went to see the show on Tuesday and got speaking to Judas (on the left). He told me he always wanted to play the part of Judas from the first time he heard the music of Jesus Christ Superstar, he is perfect for the part.

12327628493_0f43caf759_bIt was great to get to see behind the scenes. Thanks so much to Fintan and the Fun Company for allowing me to take photos.

12327521243_1238660f03_bHugh O’Neill above plays the role of Pontius Pilate, he played the part of Jesus the first time the Fun Company performed this show 25 years ago!

12327849154_d5627638d7_bAnyway don’t just take my word for it, go and see the show for yourself. Tickets are selling out fast. Contact the Hawk’s Well to get yours.

The rest of my photos are here.

  1. I would have loved to have seen this production in Ireland, my husband and I saw it about 45 years ago in Providence, Rhode Island and we were blown away it was such a fabulous show and so over the top for a young Irish Catholic School Girl. 🙂 Hmm, not only was he perfect for the part of Judas, he looks pretty perfect too me for just about anything.
