Raghly is a lovely little place just outside Sligo town. I went there on Thursday which was a really windy day so I didn’t spend long there as I almost got blown into the harbour!
This is the view from Raghly strand. The mountain is Knocknarea so over to the right you can see Strandhill. The lighthouse is Blackrock Lighthouse which is just off Rosses Point.
Ireland is such a beautiful place….but it’s nicer when the sun shines 😉
I’m not sure what the ruins are but Annie West tells me it might have a coast guard station. I was hoping to go around it to get more pics but firstly I was freezing and secondly there was a farmer going around in a tractor. A few other people on twitter are telling me it was a coast guard station.
Raghly is not ‘just outside Sligo town’, but a good 40 minutes drive!
You must be taking the long way around. It takes me about 10-15 minutes.
