Today saw the launch of Mid-Life Slices the book. The launch took place at The Model, Sligo.
It really is a wonderful book with submissions by women in ‘mid-life’. There are poems and prose, art and photography.
The Fun Company, Sligo were on hand to provide some music and they had everyone singing along.
Marian Harkin MEP was there to launch the book and she gave a wonderful speech. It was also great to hear some of the contributors of the book reading out their poems, some are funny, some are moving. It would make a wonderful gift for any lady and it’s all in aid of the Sligo Cancer Support Centre.

Now for the good news. One of my photos is in the book and I am giving my copy of the book as a prize. So all you have to do is tell me what my photo in the book is of…if you need a hint have a look at previous blog posts. I will pick a winner at random and the competition is open to anyone anywhere!! If you aren’t lucky enough to win you can buy your own book, you can order it here. I’ll leave the competition open until May 5th, 2012.

Congrats, magnumlady! I’m headed to age 40 on the 23rd of May and want to still feel relevant and poignant to folks of any age. I attempt to do that through my writing, cooking and baking…or possibly from being an over-all PILL of a lady! Great work on the book.
