Robin Hood for the day

Today was fun. Lucy and I went to Sligo Indoor AirSoft and Archery which is in the Market Yard in Sligo. This is Sligo’s only indoor AirSoft and Archery shooting range. The AirSoft guns are replica weapons which fire small plastic pellets, giving you the experience and the fun of shooting without the danger.

It’s something we’ve never tried before so it was great to try it. We failed on our first go so Terry, who runs the place, showed us how to hold the arrow and fire the bow. We did a lot better after that. Lucy beat me though.

After the archery we went downstairs and had a go at the AirSoft guns. I was a bit worried because I tried this years ago when I was in Venture Scouts and the pellet from my gun bounced off the target and hit the scoutmaster right where it shouldn’t have done 😉 Luckily nothing like that happened this time.

We tried the hand guns first. I beat Lucy this time, again Terry showed us what to do. How to make the gun safe and how to aim. We moved onto the rifles which were quite scary. They are quite heavy guns and it’s quite difficult to reload them and also to aim them. Lucy did a lot better on this one than I did.

We had a brilliant time and I would highly recommend Sligo Indoor AirSoft and Archery. It’s a great idea for kids party, stags and hens or just for something different. We will be back again.
