Hargadon Bros Pub, O’Connell Street, Sligo, originally uploaded by magnum_lady.
On Friday night we went to Hargadon’s pub in Sligo town.
We heard that The Odd Couple were making an appearance. They are the percussion section from ‘An evening with Sgt. Pepper. So we went along to hear them play.
They had a ‘little help from their friends’ with all of the members of An Evening with Sgt. Pepper arriving. Sinead Conway sang with them first, followed by Dave Flynn. They are all fantastic musicians and the atmosphere in Hargadon’s was great. The guys and girls from An Evening with Sgt. Pepper are the friendliest people you could ever wish to meet and spent loads of time chatting to us.
We were only sorry we couldn’t stay longer. Too old for late nights 😉
There is a bit of video here, but it is dark. It’ll give you an idea though.
Wow, all that talking… must make the task of playing and singing so much harder! Sounds like a fab night though Val – and don’t give me that ‘too old’ malarkey!! Honestly, you’re letting the side down girl!! 😀
Been years since I went to a pub for a singalong – used to go regularly up to Nottingham to stay with a friend and her parents and we’d go to the Irish pub in centre for loads of Guinness and to sing our hearts out. I wonder if that place is still going… would be great to do it all again!
The problem in Ireland is that most things don’t start until about 10.30pm! So I’m usually ready for bed……can’t party all night like I did when I was a young ‘un xxx
