Ha Ha said the horse

Ha Ha said the horse, originally uploaded by magnum_lady.

Well it’s been a strange kind of day today. Lots of phone calls had to be made regarding Dad, it feels odd but I suppose it has to be done.

I don’t think I mentioned before about our cat going missing last week. We had looked for her but there was no sign.
Just to give you a bit of background we moved to this house in the village last year, but the cats were up at our old house until Christmas when I bought them down here, up until then I was going up everyday to feed them.

Anyway neither Chicken (daft name) or Yorkie like living in the village, they used to love being in ‘the sticks’.
We couldn’t find Chicken though this week. We went up to the old house the other day and there she was…..now I don’t know if she walked back up there or if she hid in the car and went up when I was checking on the place.

Today though I decided to bring her back again, but silly me forgot to bring the cat carrier or even a box. So I got her into the car, she savaged my hand, bounced off the back window, knocked Wilson (my little mascot from Castaway) flying and switched on the heated rear window with her foot. I could hardly see for cat hair….so when she finally sat down I drove home. Luckily it’s only 2 miles and she just sat shaking on my lap for the journey.

I just hope she doesn’t go back there again.

The photo of the horse was taken yesterday at Riverstown…..the horse would indeed laugh if he saw the cat in the car today.

  1. I reckon the cat made her own way there – I’ve heard amazing stories about cats walking miles and miles (even to different cities) to get back home again – keep an eye on her!!

  2. By the way. I am awarding you my Gift of the Gab Award as I think you have it! No rules go with it except you can pass it on to anyone you think has the gift too. You can display it or not. It’s on my sidebar if you want to pick it up. best wishes …pam

  3. i’m sorry val but i couldn’t stop laughing- just had this picture of a very mad cat fighting tooth & nail in the car- great thing you didn’t have far to go!!
and the cat looks like butter wouldn’t melt… 🙂

  4. I do hope you re-read your blogs from time to Val, this one one will have you chuckling for many days to come – my sides are hurting, you cruel devil!

Last time we took a cat in the car was my mum’s (long gone) ginger one who actually adored coming along for the ride… he came along to the Chinese (6 miles away) to pick up a take away but got out. Needless to say losing a cat by a Chinese wasn’t our finest hour.

Did you ever need to take Ckicken to the vet? our vet calls out the animals name and the surname, so we’ve had to answer to Speckley Ketley (my sister’s chicken) and Piggy Poo Pollard (my last cat) so far.

  5. Luckily over here Clare they just call the cat by your surname in the vet….thankfully!
Anyway that’s nothing, the real chickens we had were called Paxo and Stuffing! I used to walk around the garden shouting Stuffing….the looks that the farmer nextdoor used to give me were priceless!
